Yoga begins with listening. When we listen, we are giving space to what is. —Richard Freeman

Hi there. I’m Beth. I’m a Midwest-born nature-loving yogini who happily calls the Bay Area home. I was called to this path through my own healing journey, which I would love to share with you…

I wandered into my first yoga class in rural Ohio over 15 years ago. It was here that the seed was planted, gently placed in a corner of my soul that wouldn’t see light or water for many years—but it was there, patiently waiting for the right time to grow.

That time came in my mid-twenties when I began questioning how my life was unfolding. I wasn’t feeling fulfilled in my career, I was constantly experiencing health setbacks, and I had an unhealthy relationship with drugs and alcohol. Beneath it all, I was yearning for more purpose, meaning, and connection. I found that through yoga and began immersing myself in all of the ancient wisdom I could hold. It was here that the rebirthing process began, slowly and gently transforming my unwanted patterns and shining the light of awareness into my darkest corners.

During a destabilizing bout with cancer in my late twenties, I explored many different healing modalities and dove to new personal depths of spiritual inquiry. Aided by the intuitive resources I cultivated along my path, I returned to my body and received the clearest message— I must share this work with my community.

I am so grateful to be doing that now.

MY QUALIFICATIONS

I am a fully-insured, IAYT-certified Yoga Therapist and Yoga Alliance 500-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, trained primarily in the lineage of Krishnamacharya. Cumulatively, I have over two thousand hours of focused study, including specialized training in somatic psychology, Ayurvedic medicine, addiction recovery, and trauma-informed practice.

In addition to my therapy career, I have spent nearly a decade working in business consulting and strategy. This has allowed me to develop my interpersonal communication skills while exploring a more structured, left-brained approach to living. When I began studying yoga and somatic psychology, I realized I had spent many years strengthening my masculine energy and the time had come to nurture my feminine side. This beautiful exploratory process has allowed me to expand into more creative body-based inquiry and deeply understand what it means to find balance in this life.

I wouldn’t be where I am today without the guidance of my teachers. I believe that Mother Nature is the supreme teacher and am consistently humbled the more time I spend exploring her wondrous depths. I am grateful my life here in Northern California has allowed me to do that so often, as it intimately informs my own process, as well as what I share with the world.

I have also had the great honor of studying with some truly inspirational humans along my educational journey who have significantly shaped my work. To Janice Gates, Darren Main, Prashanti de Jager, Robin Gueth, Gabor Maté, and Peter Levine — thank you for sharing your wisdom with me and being such beacons of light and inspiration always.
