WHAT IS YOGA THERAPY?

Simply put, yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved well-being through the application of yoga philosophy and practice. It is that facet of the ancient science of yoga that focuses on health and wellness at all levels of the person—physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual. It offers balance to the body and mind through an experiential understanding of the primary intention of yoga, connection to our essential nature.

WHAT WOULD A SESSION WITH ME LOOK LIKE?

In my 1:1 sessions, I offer a safe space for exploration and curiosity around your internal landscape. It can look many different ways, but often involves me sharing customized meditations, postures, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and lifestyle recommendations to suit your unique needs. It’s a very intuitive, compassionate, and co-creative process.

Yoga therapy is often used as a complement to Western medicine and psychology, offering additional tools to holistically treat various kinds of psychological or somatic dis-ease, ranging from low back pain to emotional distress. Both the western and yogic approaches share the same understanding of the human being as an integrated body-mind system, which can function optimally only when there is a state of dynamic balance. And that is exactly what we work towards in our sessions together.
